This time we will be feauturing the
beautiful sceneries of Trinidad that only nature-lover kind of tourists would
die to visit.
The Municipality of Trinidad
is located in the northeastern part of Bohol Province, and this town is
surprisingly rich in natural wonders, drawing thousands of visitors every year
to its amazing caves and other heartwarming sceneries.
TOURIST SPOT (SCENERIES)
✌Batungay Cave👌
A yet unexplored wonder in the island of Bohol is the
Batungay Cave, located in the interior part of the town of Trinidad. Batungay
is derived from the word BATO, meaning rock, and NGAY, meaning twins. The
cave is beneath two solid rocks. Like any other
cave, Batungay has its myth to tell. According to the late Pantaleon
Cajes, the first Barangay Captain in Sto. Tomas, there was a diwata in
Batungay who was very generous to the residents.
This diwata would lend a wedding dress to a lady
who is about to get married. She would also lend them pots, plates, and
glasses for the banquet. But because the residents
did not return these things back, the diwata has ceased to let them borrow
anything. Another popular myth about the Batungay is that it is a large
plantation of cacao, and that these goods are transported to the Inabanga River
on board the vessel of Magkaban, an enchanted merchant.These myths have
been passed on through word of mouth by residents. Yet the cave has a
more functional value than just a source of magical stories.
But despite these myths, the beauty of the cave
is mesmerizing and cannot stop the visitors from coming. Getting inside the Batungay Cave is exhilarating.
A flowing stream of crystal clear water would definitely make your trek
cooler, and yes, more enchanting. Add to that the awesome stalactites and
stalagmites shaped like chandeliers. You can avail these wonders through the
caretakers of this cave.

Outside the Batungay Cave, you will find the Batungay Twin
Peak which is 150 feet above the ground. Trinidad Twin Peak is known for
its hills and caves. The area is suited for development as Nature’s Parks with
facilities for hiking, camping, spelunking and other recreational activities.
The Trinidad Twin Peak is located at Barangay Sto. Tomas, which is 8 kilometers
away from Poblacion proper. The scenery was very breathtaking.
Upon enetering
this place,you can see at the sides of the stairs the different tabular stones
that portrays the Station of the Cross. While going up, its not yet tiring and
very exciting. Every step was very fun especially if you have a company with
you. You are free to capture photos to the different sceneries. If you are near
on the toppest part, payags are visible at your sight already
where you can take little rest and let the view and your expectations sink in
to yourself.

This would be the possible possible view if
you'll reach the top most part of the peak. There is also a massive cross (1st
photo) standing on the other view. A statue of Mama Mary (1st photo) can be
seen also. While you are at the top of this peak, you can freely express
your emotions through shouting. It was also a perfect place for soul
searching.

😎KAWASAN FALLS😎
There are so many places among Bohol’s well-kept secrets. Kawasan Falls could be one of them. It is located in barangay San Isidro which is 13 kilometers away from the Poblacion proper and is 5 kilometers away from the Batungay Cave. The water here is relaxing together with the wonderful view. Among the edges of these flat lands, grow a neat border of limestone hills with protruding boulders, lush forests, and the snaking brooks, these when traced leads you to a roaring falls. Of course, you’ll have a crudely carved dirt track for carabao carts on roughly hewn hillsides.
At the end of the barangay road
to scenic farming villages leading to San Isidro, is a newly-opened access
which could make this mysteriously kept hidden falls accessible. But, it still
could be off to your usual off-the-mill city buzz fugitives on four-wheeled
vehicles. So, Kawasan. Making a spectacular impression with its gush from atop
a 10 meter cliff which forms half for the limestone walls, the water flows off
on to the south side of a deep pool, is Kawasan. Among Bohol’s least polished
jewels glinting in the sun, Kawasan Falls is yet a raw treasure Trinidadnons
try to carve a facet, and the little it did, has revealed already a tasteful
enchantment the place exudes as you stand transfixed in the area. What’s unusual
about the falls is the stone formations, boulders so huge you’d imagine these
could be from the land of the giants abandoned in a hurry.
Kawasan Falls own a ten-meter drop of water or so,
spilling into a pool almost a hundred square meters. From a viewing deck that
looks down on the pool not less than 10 meters below, the water is jade green
to deep share of greenish olive, lending a more mystical air to the scene. A
challenging cliff rises from one of the pools' edge and poses a scaling dare
enough for a struggling rock climber or an adventurous rock ledge scrambler.
But for the tired soul wandering on earth, looking for a perfect place to just
sit and relax, take a cool refreshing dip, or have a splashing massage from the
falls gushing drops, it is Kawasan. Its mystical, on the very least, you could
tangibly feel the urge to just zip it, or talk in whispers lest you disturb the
sacred tranquility of nature claiming a niche of the earth as its own.
SPECIAL FEATURE:
💜BIEN UNIDO UNDERWATER GROTTOS💜
Bien Unido is known not just seaweed capital in the country but also
famous “Bohol’s Last Frontier.”Its part of the Danajon Bank, one of the rare
double barrier reefs of the world. An added attraction is the underwater
grotto. In 2010, the town installed 14-foot of the Virgin Mary and Sr. Sto.
Nino statues were positioned 60 feet underwater in the reef to remind illegal
fishermen that God created the seas and to a reminder for us to take good care
of our environment. Di jud nato ni pwede ibalewala ang mensahe ka gihatag sa
pagtukod kinianing lugara.
The first underwater pilgrimage in Bohol. Knowing the faith of people here, this was made in order to stop the fishermen from doing abusive techniques in fishing. And to remind the mamamayan to cherish the blessing of nature and God, it was never meant to disrespect the instruments of God. It was then blessed underwater on October 28, 2010 by three Seaknights’ priests, Fr. Charlie Orobia, Fr. Murphy Sarsonas, and Fr. Tito Soquino.
Indeed, this endeavor is favorable for the Catholic
Divers. Now, they can pray and meditate while being immersed in another amazing
world where God’s wonderful creations are appreciated. It gives a moment of
deeper reflection than those normally experienced.To encourage more tourists,
experienced divers or neophytes, a mini hotel, dive shop and other basic diving
facilities were put up in the area. The intent might be a divine intervention
but underwater grottos always seem to be one of the top diving sites around the
world like one in the Mediterranean Island of Malta. Why choose Malta if Bohol
offers the same? Besides, a double barrier reef is enough to be a potential
global attraction, not just for divers but also for eco-tourists.
